(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 28, 2009) In a week 16 Superior League 2 battle, BrownsROCK squeaked by a tough Melby's Best team by a score of 88.95 to 85.00, extending the winning streak for BrownsROCK to 4 games.
BrownsROCK were led to their 3.95 point victory by a 16.75 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who got by the Seattle Seahawks defense for 237 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 9 rushing yards. They also got help from a 16.50 point effort from Thomas Jones, who beat the Indianapolis Colts defense for 105 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD. "We're tickled to death," BrownsROCK coach Mitch Cheselka said. Melby's Best were helped out in a losing cause by a 21.20 point effort from Philip Rivers, who got by the Tennessee Titans defense for 264 passing yards and 2 passing TDs. They also got help from a 19.00 point effort from Cedric Benson, who beat the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 133 rushing yards in addition to 7 receiving yards. "They out-hustled us," Melby's Best coach Lenny Kaplan said. Adding salt to the wound, Melby's Best could have scored 90.20 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Lenny Kaplan left key players like Felix Jones and his corresponding 8.50 points on the bench. This brings the record for BrownsROCK to 8-8, and drops Melby's Best to a record of 6-9. | ||
